How We Came to Be
Civic Technologies evolved out of a 15-year consulting practice headed by president/CEO Marc Futterman and vice-president/CTO Mayee Salgado.
Civic Technologies' work is broadly based around an understanding of the built environment including the disciplines of architecture, urban design and planning, strategic planning, community consensus building processes, transportation planning, economic development, demographic analysis, real estate development, and GIS.
The lessons learned from this broad spectrum of experience led to the creation of Civic Technologies as a customer-focused company that leverages the power of GIS technology to assist clients make better informed decisions, save money, increase revenue, and more effectively plan, manage, and implement organizational objectives.
Prior to co-founding Civic Technologies, Marc and Mayee were principals of their own urban planning firm from its inception in 1994. Marc and Mayee recognized that community-planning disciplines had yet to combine the power of dynamic database technology with web tools and computing power. As a result, Marc and Mayee co-founded Civic Technologies in order to integrate all of the resources available to corporate, public, and institutional clients for creating powerful, decision-making applications delivered to the desktop computer of executives and staff members throughout an organization.
